Sales rep software: Assisted Selling Platform (Sales Hub)

Your team negotiates over WhatsApp, with no authority limits, no ranking, no customer context, and you cannot see what was granted. The Assisted Selling Platform is the sales rep software that works as a digital negotiation table, where rep and buyer stay in the same cart and negotiate in instant chat, under automatic governance.

In short

Sales rep software is what a B2B sales team uses to quote, negotiate and close orders with customers. On CWS Platform that is the Assisted Selling Platform (Sales Hub): the rep and the buyer share the same cart and negotiate in instant chat, and every discount stays within approval limits. Reps use the same portal as buyers, in the app and on desktop, with a sales rep interface.

  • The price the rep negotiates starts from Contextual Pricing, derived by customer, warehouse and tax rule. Source: B2B pricing engine.
  • Every discount follows the Approval Workflows of the Commerce Rules Engine, with a Reason Code mandatory when it goes to approval. Source: Commerce Rules Engine (CDL Workspace).
  • Routine reorders leave the rep's desk and move to self-service. Source: B2B customer portal.
  • At Imdepa, 153 customers were activated in 3 years without growing the team at the same rate. Source: Imdepa case.

The guide to choosing a B2B ecommerce platform asks the question that separates a rep inside the channel from a rep competing with it.

What it is

The interface of the digital sales force. Rep and buyer share a Real-Time Shared Cart, one cart for both, updated when the page refreshes and negotiated in instant chat, and negotiate price, terms, payment and quantity under the Approval Workflows and the credit applied by the Commerce Rules Engine. The Customer Intelligence Panel loads history, credit and buyer context in one click. The sales rep evolves through four profiles: attendant, facilitator, governed negotiator and AI consultant, supported by the Sales Copilot.

There is no separate rep app. The sales rep app is the portal's own app: reps sign in to the same portal buyers use, in the app and on desktop, and the interface adapts to the sales rep role so they can navigate and manage their customer portfolio from the front end.

Dead-End Negotiation Prevention

The system avoids time lost on an unviable proposal, blocking beforehand whatever would not pass the authority limit.

Dead-End Negotiation Prevention: a proposal that would fail the threshold is stopped at the fork before the dead end, saving the rep's time.
No proposal born dead. The system stops early what would not pass the threshold, so the rep does not waste time negotiating an unviable proposal.

The operations that close here and would not close elsewhere5

Barter
In agribusiness, grain is the currency. Pricing accounts for harvest, crop, index currency, CIF or FOB and rural taxation, and the grain balance is managed per customer.
Order split
The seller splits delivery across addresses and methods within a single order, with freight, tax and approval thresholds independent per fraction.
ByRequest
A stockout becomes an opportunity rather than an error. An item without price or balance stays in the catalog and opens demand capture, instead of vanishing and taking the customer with it.
Multidimensional search
Search by manufacturer part code, partner part code, technical attribute and commercial context. In a large technical catalog, it is the difference between finding an item in seconds and finding it in minutes.
Off-channel service
Demand that arrived by message or phone is brought inside the platform: the seller builds the cart, shares the link, and the negotiation gains governance and an audit trail.

The account base belongs to the seller, and the system enforces it3

Without this, the portal becomes a threat to commission and the sales force undermines it. The architecture resolves the conflict, instead of asking people to rise above it.

Seller and selling entity are distinct
The seller is the authenticated person who serves the customer. The selling entity is the legal entity that holds stock and tax liability and lists its offer under the catalog strategy the portal owner chose. The hierarchy runs from seller down to SKU, through selling entity, warehouse and balance, and it is what determines what can be promised.
No stepping on each other's accounts
Sensitive data for customers outside a seller's base is inaccessible, and conversations are segregated per seller. Whoever serves the account knows the base is theirs.
Customer Intelligence Panel
On identifying the customer, the seller receives financial health, available credit, commercial terms, cluster and history. It avoids the waste of building a proposal for someone who would be blocked at checkout.

Approval limits, margin and service governed per sales rep8

Sales reps get room to negotiate, and the company defines how far that room goes.

Buying on the customer's behalf
The sales rep identifies the customer by name or tax ID and buys on their behalf inside the portal itself, with the customer's addresses, credit limit, contract prices and pricing rules, without the customer having to sign in. Several service sessions can stay open at once.
Three discount limits per rep
Above the first limit the order goes to approval; the second stops the discount from being entered on the item; the third halts the order, so it never ends up with no possible approver. Each limit can apply by category, store or price tag, and in a multi-item cart the threshold can be calculated as a weighted average.
Multi-level approval with history
Each profile has an approval range, and the order moves up level by level with comments and a dated history. The store defines whether higher levels see pending and declined orders from the levels below and whether they can skip levels.
Margin-based governance
A minimum margin for automatic approval and a minimum margin to close the order: below it, the order does not even enter approval. The platform can show the rep how far they are from the target margin.
Freight negotiated within limits
The rep can change the freight amount within a dedicated limit, in value or percentage, with a blocking ceiling, or enter manual freight with carrier, amount and lead time.
Accounts and stores per rep
The account base is restricted by customer or by customer group, and the store can require each customer to be tied to a single rep. A partner's rep sells only from the stores they are allowed: products from other stores appear without price or stock.
Rep and manager dashboard
The rep approves pending items and sees margin on the approval dashboard. The manager view shows orders from the stores and categories within their authority, with the queue sorted by discount or by date.
Purchasing desk with its own accounts
The buyer has their own login and purchases only for the customers in their portfolio. The invoice is issued under the customer's tax ID, the order records who bought, and the buyer cannot grant discounts.
Quote generated on the CWS Platform sales desk: quote number, customer company and tax ID, financial details with platform, payment type and condition, source warehouse, and the view options that break the discount down item by item.

The seller's negotiation comes out as a document

The generated quote with the company, the tax ID, the payment condition and the warehouse that serves it, plus the options that break the discount down item by item.

  • Customer and terms on one pageCompany, tax ID, payment type and condition come out together, rather than depending on what the seller remembers to write down.
  • The source warehouse is namedThe quote states which centre the part ships from, so lead time and availability stop being a vague promise.
  • Discount item by itemThe detailed view opens what was granted line by line, which is what makes the concession auditable later.

This is what the sales desk delivers at the end — not a screenshot of a chat, but a document carrying customer, condition and stock origin. The per-item discount view is the proof that what was granted stays auditable instead of vanishing at closing.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Real-Time Shared Cart?

It is the table of the Assisted Selling Platform (Sales Hub): sales rep and buyer in the same cart, with context and authority applied right there. What one changes shows up for the other when the page refreshes, and the instant chat lets them negotiate and change the cart in conversation. There are operations that run 100% through it.

Does the Sales Hub have a discount rule of its own?

No. The module applies the Approval Workflows of the Commerce Rules Engine, with authority by profile and a Reason Code mandatory when a discount goes to approval and when it is commercially declined, so any concession above the limit has an author and a justification.

What does the Customer Intelligence Panel show?

History, credit and customer context in one click, and access by portfolio ensures each rep sees only their own base.

Is there a sales rep app?

Yes, and it is the portal's own app: reps use the same portal as buyers, in the app and on desktop, not a separate rep app. The interface adapts to the sales rep role so they can navigate and manage their customer portfolio from the front end.

What is sales rep software for B2B?

It is the system a B2B sales team uses to see the customer, quote, negotiate and close orders. On CWS Platform that is the Assisted Selling Platform (Sales Hub): the rep and the buyer work in the same cart, the customer's history and credit are one click away, and the discount rules apply on their own.

What is sales force automation?

Sales force automation is taking the repetitive work that needs no judgment off the sales rep, so the time goes to negotiation. On CWS Platform that means customer context in the Customer Intelligence Panel, the quote assembled by the Sales Copilot, routine reorders moved to self-service, and approval limits applied automatically by the Commerce Rules Engine.
